Crayon Musical Chairs

Written on 09-Aug-2008 by SpykeAndSpencer

A twist on a classic music game

 crayons

Children have fun coloring and listening to music. Give each child a sheet of paper and start the music. Let them all color with a crayon and then when the music stops tell them to stop coloring. Then rotate your sheet around and let everyone start coloring again and start the music.

Sing with the music and then stop the music and have everyone stop. Rotate the papers again! At the end you'll all have a piece of paper that everyone has drawn on and shared the coloring activity with. Put the artwork on display for everyone to see!

Supplies Needed-
- paper
- crayons
- music to listen to

(Kids love The Adventures of Spyke & Spencer Theme Song )

This is a fun activity that will also teach your child how to share and how it is more fun to do things with others. The children see how you all can make a great drawing by sharing the paper and working together!

Written on 11-Aug-2008 by SpykeAndSpencer

                Felton's Fables Friends Puppets

                      handpuppet

                                (sample)

A fun craft idea for children of all ages
             (Adult supervision advised)

Materials Needed

  • Computer and Printer
  • Non-Toxic Markers, Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Tongue Depressor or Popsicle Stick
  • Printer Paper
  • Yarn (for hair)
  • Safety Scissors
  • Nontoxic Glue Stick
  • 1. Download your favorite coloring pages from our Resource Room here:

    ParentTeacherClub.com - Printables - Coloring Pages

    2. Instruct your child to use their imagination to color and decorate their coloring pages.

    3. Older children can embellish with "google eyes" or glitter or any other safe craft items.

    4. Cut out around the shape of the Felton's Fable Friend for your child

(older children can use safety scissors to cut them out with supervision)

    5. Use the glue stick and put a dab or two on one end of the depressor (stick)

    * For an alternative you can also print out two pages of the same graphic and put the glue around the edges and make a Hand Puppet.

Your child will enjoy using their creativity to color and decorate their hand puppets.
This is a fun activity to share with other children. Encourage them to put on a Puppet Show with their Felton's Fables Friends puppets. They can make up their own stories or act out the stories in the Felton's Fables Books.
